Tiny Beans Play Cafe in Chesapeake is the latest addition to the indoor playground and cafe craze to hit Hampton Roads. My youngest Family Fun Inspectors (that's what I'm calling us now) and I were invited to visit, play and try the cafe's offerings so we could report back to you!
What is Tiny Beans Play Cafe?
Tiny Beans Play Cafe is an indoor play place for young children in Chesapeake, VA. It has a cafe, serving up delicious specialty coffee and espresso drinks, with snacks and a children's drink menu. The target age group is 0 to 7, with separate gated play areas for infants (Bitty Beans) and toddlers (Jumping Beans). The atmosphere is welcoming, clean, modern, cozy, and best of all, has open views of the playground. The play cafe is owned by Caitlin and Bri, two military wives and mothers who met while their husbands were on deployment. Their vision was to create a space with parents in mind, so they could meet up, unwind with a cup of coffee, and not stress out about their children's safety.

- Parking is plentiful and tucked away from traffic, with several spots close to the door.
Play Area Features
The play area has something for every child: soft play, imaginative areas, slides, climbing, and sensory play. Safety features include gates, clean soft padding, and visibility for parents. The play area for Bitty Beans (infants) is safely gated, while the toddlers and older kids have the run of the rest of the Jumping Beans playground with toys and equipment designed for ages 3 and up.
No need to worry about cleaning up the toy mess here! The helpful playground attendants return everything to their proper places throughout the day and even come out at various times to blow bubbles for the little ones.
The Cafe Side
What types of drinks and snacks are available? There is an ample drink menu featuring coffee, cappuccinos, lattes, espresso, tea, and more. Kid-friendly options include the adorably-named Babycino, Iced Milk Spritz and Mini Vanilla Steamer. Healthy snacks such as applesauce pouches, granola bars, and veggie straws are available to purchase for those kids who just can't wait for snack time.
The quality of the cafe's beverages is excellent, and Tiny Beans proudly serves locally roasted coffee from Taxus Street Coffee right here in Chesapeake. There are seasonal coffees with creative combinations like the Vanilla Honey Lavender Latte or the Pink Bunny Spritz.
The seating area is clean with a modern vibe that parents will appreciate, and it offers excellent visibility of the play area. Electrical outlets are plentiful, so moms can tote a laptop along and get some work done, while the little ones expend some energy on the playground safely.
